AWARIS is led by Dato’ Ahmad Saruji Abdul Aziz, an expert in Trustee Act 1949, Probate & Administration Act 1959, land laws, treasury, legacy laws, Islamic Inheritance Enactments, family laws and asset management. He served as the Head of Department (HOD) of Pusat Pungutan Zakat-MAIWP from 1992 to 2005. Then, he joined Amanah Raya Berhad as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Head of Information Technology (Covering) from 2006 to 2011. Then, he joined Koperasi Pembiayaan Syariah ANGKASA Bhd (KOPSYA) as the General Manager (GM) from 2012 to 2013. Later, he served MyAngkasa Amanah Bhd which is wholly owned by Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Bhd (ANGKASA) as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from 2013 until 2018.

Working alongside Dato’ Ahmad Saruji Abdul Aziz is a group of experts and advisors who are well versed to the Trustee Act 1949 [Act 208], Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 [Act 671], Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001 [Act 613], Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 [Act 759], and Financial Services Act 2013 [Act 758].

Currently, Dato’ Ahmad Saruji Abdul Aziz is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & Managing Director (MD) of Amanah Warisan Berhad (AWARIS) since December 2018. In just 3 years of operating, the total asset under management (AUM) of AWARIS lead by Dato’ Saruji has exceeded RM300 million.
